1. Dr. Rai Krishna Mahanti Memorial Gold Medal Award National Anatomy Conference at Culcutta in 1998.
2. Karnataka HDMC Rojosstava Award Nov – 2003, Hubli.
3. Dr. G.V. Bhatt Memorial Prize best Paper award (CSEPI India) International Conference in Bangalore in 2006
4. Dr. (Smt) S. Kantha Gold Medal award for best Scientific Paper Published in “Anatomica Karnataka” Journal, KCA conference in Mysore in 2007 .
5. Sri Devarj URS Medical College Gold Medal award in Kolar in 2010.
6. Karnataka Institute of Medical Science, Gold Medal Award at SIMS, Bangalore in 2013.

Annual Sports Report of SIMS for the academic year 2010-2011.

With respect to the above subject SIMS had organized many sports events & also formed a sports committee under the Agies of Presidentship of Dr.Shankare Gowda, Director.

On 07/04/2010 & 12/04/2010 SIMS Annual sports day was held at Nehru stadium, Shimoga Athletics, Basket Ball, Foot Ball, Volley Ball, Throw ball, Table Tennis, Shuttle Badminton, Chess etc events were organized for the students & also for the teaching staff the students were divided into 3 teams namely the warriors, Gladiators & Spartans & warriors won the championship for the year.

With the support of RGUHS, Bangalore SIMS organized an inter-university shuttle badminton selection process at the Nehru indoor stadium, shimoga & students from various medical colleges of Karnataka actively participated in the selection trials.

Deepak.M.V, Raghavendra B.L., Shree Ranganatha.H.S, Sandesh.O. of III MBBS & Arjun from I MBBS & Kshma Ramesh of II MBBS represented, SIMS in the same.

From 21/10/2010 to 25/10/2010 SIMS had organized a 5 day training session for the participants, selected in the RGUHS selection process which was followed by a inter university Badminton Tournament held at Dr.N.T.R university, Vijaywada & The physical director of SIMS Mr.Ramesh Naik accompanied the team as the Manager.

On 25/11/2010 under the guidance of RGUHS, SIMS had organized a Inter Zone & as well the university level Badminton tournament for the men & women teaching staff.

In men section , MMC Mysore won the 1st place while JSS Medical college Mysore baged 2nd place In women’s sections JJM, Davangere grabed the 1st place while the JSS Medical college, Mysore were satisfied with the second place.

Amongst the teaching staff.

Singles was baged by M.S.R.M.C college Bangalore & S.D.V Medical College, Kolar baged the second place.

In the Doubles, MMC Mysore – 1st place, M.S.R.M.C.Bangalore – 2nd place.

SIMS students had also participated in RGUHS Mysore zonal cricket tournament which was organized by Mandya Medical College from 25/10/2010 to 29/10/2010.

Srinidhi.R. of SIMS Shimoga represented RGUHS, Inter college at athletic championship 2010-11 held at Alyas Education foundation, Moodbidri from 02/11/2010 to 04/11/2010.

The physical Education Director of SIMS, Mr.Ramesh Naik.D.J. has been nominated as member of the university selection committee to select the university (M & W) Athletes to participate in All India Inter-University athletic championship 2010-2011 from 02/11/2010 to 04/11/2010.

Chaithra.S.N. of SIMS, shimoga represented RGUHS as the captain of the team in the Inter University Basket Ball tournament held at MDSV Ajmer, Rajasthan from 15/11/2010 to 20/11/2010.

M.V. Shetty college of Physiotherapy, Mangalore had organized a Mysore Zonal level Table Tennis Tournament from 27/11/2010 to 28/11/2010 in which 5 of SIMS students had participated & they managed to reach the 3rd round.

Two of the SIMS students namely Nrupathunga & Sanjay participated in one of the selection trials conducted by KIMS, Bangalore from 18/11/2010 to 20/11/2010.

Our SIMS students have also participated in the Chess tournament conducted by the A.L.N Rao Ayurvedic Medical College, Koppa from 29/11/2010 to 30/11/2010.

The Annual Sports meet or the interclass sports events for the Academic year 2011 will be held in the month of March or April.
